Nemours is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Hospital-Based Services to join our Nemours Children’s Health team in Wilmington, DE.

The Assistant Vice President, Hospital-Based Services, is responsible for the high operational and financial performance of various hospital-based programs and services at Nemours Children’s Hospital and in surrounding Nemours Delaware Valley satellite locations. 

This Assistant Vice President utilize data to recognize opportunities for improvement of processes, strategies, and outcomes. The Assistant Vice President will collaborate with area leaders in the development of counter measures, support implementation, and ensure monitoring and improvement of outcomes designed to advance Nemours mission and strategic plan. The Assistant Vice President will serve as a senior leader in the hospital and practice, and as such, be highly collaborative and visible within Nemours and the communities we serve.

Essential Functions

1. Demonstrate a strong fundamental understanding and proven track record of executing on operational and financial objectives to effectively drive areas of oversight to achieve desired outcomes.

2. Oversee development and execution of capital and operating budgets for areas of oversight in effort to meet and exceed financial performance and budgetary goals for areas, 

3. Manage and oversee revenue cycle operations for areas of oversight.

4. Drive the development and implementation of innovative programs and services for areas of oversight, while never sacrificing quality, safety, and the service experience.

5. Ensure processes and systems are in place to allow for the proactive recognition of opportunities to continuously improve the delivery of care and quality of service provided in areas of oversight. Facilitate the development and implementation of plans to capitalize on areas of opportunity.

6. Demonstrate a firm grasp of operational inter-relationships at various organizational levels. Utilize relationships to capitalize on opportunities to improve access to and quality of care.

7. Provide leadership in areas of oversight through teaching, coaching, mentoring, and succession planning in effort to meets and exceeds goals and targets in finance, operations, quality, safety, service, process improvement, and Associate engagement.

8. Provide support in the development and cascading of enterprise, site-specific and departmental goals and measures.

9. Demonstrates knowledge of state, federal and JCAHO regulations. Meet or exceed all regulatory, licensure, and accreditation requirements for areas of responsibility.

10. Accept miscellaneous duties and responsibilities, as may be assigned by Vice President of Business Operations, Hospital Based Services.

Qualifications

Required:

• Master’s Degree in a business discipline or equivalent

• Minimum seven years progressive management experience in a children’s hospital or system is preferred. Other relevant industry experience will be considered.

Preferred:

• Experience overseeing anesthesiology, medical imaging, therapy, audiology, and/or other hospital and ambulatory services.

• Experience with enterprise-wide systems (PeopleSoft, SAP, etc.)
