Our client is a national general contractor that is is seeking an MEP Manager to oversee substantial commercial projects valued at over $50 million. This role involves supporting various project teams with MEP coordination, technical assistance, troubleshooting, change order assessments, and commissioning. Additionally, the role offers targeted support to the Estimating and Preconstruction Group and reports directly to a senior executive in operations.

Key Responsibilities

Highlighted responsibilities of the MEP Project Manager include:

Construction:

• Leading the MEP coordination process
• Managing MEP trades on-site
• Handling and resolving change orders for MEP trades
• Troubleshooting and problem resolution

Bidding:

• Assisting in the compilation and analysis of MEP subcontractor bids for pricing and scope
• Reviewing documents for scope and accuracy

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The successful candidate will:

• Possess a comprehensive understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in commercial buildings, with extensive experience managing these trades on large-scale projects.
• Demonstrate proficiency in diagnosing and resolving field issues in collaboration with subcontractors and project teams.
• Work effectively with design teams and subcontractors in preconstruction and coordination efforts.
• Exhibit strong interpersonal skills.

Job Specifications

• A minimum of 10 years' experience in the construction industry, with experience from a general contractor, MEP subcontractor, or design firm.
• Experience working on large commercial construction projects valued at over $50 million.
• Extensive experience in field operations related to mechanical or electrical construction.
• A four-year technical degree is preferred but not required.

The ideal candidate will have experience with MEP subcontractors (such as HVAC or electrical) or an MEP design firm, along with a background in commercial general contracting.
