Job DescriptionSummary/Objective
The Mechanical Engineer will oversee projects from conception to completion, considering budgetary and operational factors. This role entails conducting initial and ongoing design reviews, identifying process deficiencies, and devising solutions for enhancement. Collaboration with sales and operations to develop new prototypes and active involvement in the quoting process for potential orders/inquiries are essential.
Salary: $75,000 - $110,000 (awarded based on experience)

  • Provide cost estimates, lead times, and technical information to customers through quotes and project proposals.
  • Design high-current bus, insulators, advanced switches, presswelds, and other components.
  • Translate engineering designs into manufacturing via ERP routings, SolidWorks models, and other applications.
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and other data to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements.
  • Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods.
  • Offer manufacturing support and technical interface with customers.
  • Translate customer needs into specific solutions.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts within the Engineering Department to maintain competitiveness in the power solutions market.
  • Identify improvement opportunities to meet safety, quality, and productivity metrics.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Proficiency in handling customer proposals, performing quotes, and pricing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with customers, management, inter and intra-departmental coworkers, and production personnel.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.

Required Education And Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment or college graduate with engineering co-op experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks, both 2D & 3D Design.
  • Project management experience.
  • Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
Preferred Education And Experience
  • 3 years of experience in engineering in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP Systems, particularly Infor Cloud Suite Industrial.
