Nesco Resource is collaborating with their client to identify and hire a Quality Manager at their location in Milford.
Position Overview: Experienced and detail-oriented Quality Manager to be responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality assurance and control processes within our manufacturing operations. This role is critical to ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Management System (QMS):
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company's Quality Management System utilizing the ISO 9001 framework
  • Ensure adherence to QMS procedures and continuous improvement of quality processes.
  • Manage the CAPA, Client and DMR system. Ensure all corrective actions are being processed proactively by holding periodic reviews.
Quality Assurance:
  • Hands-on leader to manage the quality assurance team in performing inspections, audits, and testing of products and processes.
  • Develop and implement quality control plans, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure appropriate ecosystem exists for QC operations including tools, work areas, technology, software, documentation.
Supplier Quality Management:
  • Collaborate with suppliers to establish quality requirements and ensure compliance.
  • Conduct supplier audits and evaluations to ensure quality standards are met.
Product Testing and Validation:
  • Coordinate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues and implement improvements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address product defects and non-conformances.
  • Work with Manufacturing and operations to ensure all APQP documentation is complete, executed, and approved.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of quality activities, including inspection reports, test results, and audit findings.
  • Prepare and present quality performance reports to senior management.
  • Ensure all processes have standardized methods and they have clear and accurate work instructions.
Training and Development:
  • Create a training matrix for all employees to ensure all employees are trained for their respective roles and that their training is up to date.
  • Train and mentor employees on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Foster a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure products comply with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Provide required documentation to authorized regulatory agencies.
  • Stay updated on changes in regulations and standards affecting the LED lighting industry.
Qualifications:
  • BS degree preferred in Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in assembly, electrical, or electronics.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience
  • In-depth knowledge of quality management systems, standards, and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Proficient in quality management software and tools.
  • Certification in quality management (e.g., CQE, CQM) is preferred.
