What's The Job? We are seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to become a part of our rapidly growing team and to ensure our company remains compliant with industry regulations. You will report directly to the QA Manager with pre-requisite programs oversight as well as responsibility, oversight and performance of manual and automated tests on company products, calibrate test equipment, and ensure employees are following safety regulations. To ensure success as a QA Supervisor, you should have sound knowledge of automated testing procedures, a good eye for detail, and advanced problem-solving skills. Ultimately, a first-rate QA Supervisor should be able to accurately identify production irregularities, propose improvements, and maintain a safe working environment. What You'll Be Doing, Stop Scanning and Read This Part
Assist the Quality Manager in assuring oversight and improvement of the Quality Management System measured through internal and third party audits, internal instructions and procedures of process audit, Quality Gemba Walking and customers' requirements
Supports and ensures proper execution and compliance to the site Food Safety Plan, quality procedures, food safety programs, and policies
Participant on the Food Safety Team and Hazard Analysis activities
Oversees proper execution and documentation of the site sensory program, pest control, GFCO & Kosher compliance, finished good/raw material and environmental testing programs
Reviews and approves Manufacturing Records and releases finished product
Maintains compliance to the controlled document program with potential contribution for writing and/or editing documents
Trains personnel on food safety, GMP, and quality management system programs
Performs routine operational verifications and escalates concerns appropriately
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Perform related duties as assigned by management
Performing inspections and real-time sanitation checks using rapid result testing
Sampling ingredients and products as needed, using correct sampling techniques
Oversees QA Technician tasks and manages schedules
Perform organoleptic evaluation, where required
Strong organizational skill and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines
Proven aptitude to manage many competing projects and priorities
Able to move fluidly between collaborative and independent work styles
Other duties as assigned
What You've Done And Who You Are
Experience and desire to support a culture built on collaboration, sharing of ideas and celebration of successes as well as drive for positive outcomes with cross-functional teams.
Minimum HS Diploma or GED, college degree preferred
3 years of experience in food manufacturing
Previous experience in a leadership position, preferably as a quality lead or a supervisory role
HACCP and PCQI certifications required
Internal Auditor certification preferred
GFSI knowledge preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, suppliers, and regulatory or certification agencies
Computer proficiency with MS Office, ERP systems, laboratory instrument software
