Job Description

Summary:
The Medical-Surgical Nurse Manager is responsible for the overall unit management of nursing ensuring quality patient care in accordance with accepted standards of nursing practice. This position is responsible for identifying, evaluating, analyzing, improving, educating, and implementing strategies and/or solutions that improve quality care and performance. The Nurse Manager will be expected to provide leadership to the Medical-Surgical Unit Staff and participate in Performance Improvement activities. Excellence in this position demands that the incumbent possess outstanding interpersonal and phone skills to engender those interacting with the nursing department a sense of exceeding expectation in all encounters.
Qualifications:
• Associates Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred.
• 5 years’ experience in a clinical field preferred.
• 2 years' experience in management preferred.
• Must be able to provide leadership to the medical staff and department managers.
• Must be self-directed and computer proficient.
