Nestle is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Operational Buying Coordinator.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of purchasing activities related to maintenance and engineering projects, ensuring efficient procurement of technical materials, and maintaining effective relationships with vendors.

Your expertise in purchasing or accounts payable with attention to detail will contribute to the smooth and successful execution of our operations.

Responsibilities :

  • Create purchase orders in SAP or other purchasing systems for all engineering-related purchasing activities, including parts, third-party maintenance, services, contracts, and supplies.
  • Perform all Procure to Pay functions for Capital & Extraordinary Maintenance projects, assisting project engineers in tracking actual and committed spending.
  • Ensure efficient procurement of technical materials originating from work orders and purchase requisitions, overseeing the ordering process until goods are received and final payments are made.
  • Assist Engineering & Maintenance personnel in creating work orders and purchase requisitions, including vendor selection, pricing, and account and cost center assignments.
  • Coordinate the quotation process for equipment repairs and rebuilds, providing Engineering with repair versus new pricing, and creating purchase orders upon approval.
  • Verify that the proper sales and use tax is paid or accrued for all technical purchases to ensure compliance with taxing authorities.
  • Resolve blocked and parked invoices within SAP workflow, working closely with Accounts Payable and vendors to ensure timely resolution of payment issues.
  • Collect vendor acknowledgments and price changes, making necessary adjustments to orders as needed.
  • Resolve problems related to incorrect shipments, collaborating with receivers and vendors to find appropriate resolutions.
  • Run expediting reports and proactively address any issues to ensure parts are available in the supply crib and critical downtime items are expedited on a daily basis.
  • Assist Engineering and Accounting teams in analyzing and controlling costs associated with purchasing activities.
  • Perform GR / IR reconciliation and resolve any discrepancies that arise.
  • Serve as a contact person for new vendors, submitting vendor profile forms to establish master data setup in SAP, and forwarding updates for SAP master data as needed.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with all vendors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Maintain files in accordance with records retention policies, ensuring proper documentation and organization.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field Preferred.
  • Proven experience in operational buying or procurement, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in using SAP or other purchasing systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
