DescriptionAs insurance agencies transition to a technology-driven workflow, VIQ Solutions leads the way in providing transcription and editing services across various industries, including insurance. We are currently seeking experienced candidates to join our team in a 100% remote capacity as Independent Contractors.
This opportunity involves processing audio recordings of recorded statements, interviews related to homeowners’ claims, 911 calls, and more. Attention to detail in discerning audio content, alongside a strong command of grammar, is critical. The role requires editing AI-generated text into verbatim transcripts while adhering to specific style guides.
You will have the flexibility to set your own schedule, supporting your work-life balance while receiving assistance from our in-office team when necessary. We offer work availability around the clock to accommodate various schedules, with preference given to those with weekend availability.

- Adherence to deadlines and client-specific style guides
- Outstanding literacy skills, including comprehension, spelling, and grammar
- Ability to collaborate remotely
- Typing proficiency in both speed and accuracy
- Capability to pass a background check
- Must be a US citizen (Note: This opportunity is currently not available to residents of Massachusetts, Illinois, or California)
- Experience in transcribing and/or editing audio content to verbatim text
- A computer or laptop with a minimum of 8 GB RAM
- Noise-canceling quality headphones (recommended)
- Windows 10 (if you’re unsure which version you’re using, you can check by pressing Windows logo key R, typing: winver, and selecting OK)
- An antivirus program with daily virus definition updates (excluding Webroot antivirus)
- Infinity Foot Pedal (highly recommended)
