Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant/Associate Scientist to join our team in Seattle-Dexter, WA. This role involves hands-on bioprocessing work, requiring proficiency in either upstream or downstream processes. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our bioprocessing operations, ensuring the efficiency and quality of our production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct aseptic techniques to maintain sterility in cell culture processes.
• Operate and maintain bioreactors, ensuring optimal conditions for cell growth and productivity.
• Perform primary recovery processes including cell harvesting and clarification.
• Utilize chromatography techniques for protein purification.
• Perform tangential flow filtration for concentration and diafiltration of bioproducts.
• Operate and maintain downstream processing equipment to ensure high-quality output.
• Handle pilot scale bioprocessing equipment with capacities greater than 50 liters.
• Optimize and scale-up processes from lab scale to pilot scale.
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and process issues to maintain consistent production quality.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all bioprocessing activities.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
• Participate in process development and optimization projects.

Top Skills and Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in either upstream bioprocessing (aseptic technique, bioreactor operation, primary recovery) or downstream bioprocessing (chromatography, tangential flow filtration).
• Hands-on experience with pilot scale bioprocessing equipment with capacities greater than 50 liters.
• Strong understanding of bioprocessing principles and techniques.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to optimize processes for improved performance.
• Ability to maintain meticulous records and ensure compliance with standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Prior experience in a similar role within the biopharmaceutical industry.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other regulatory requirements.
