Position: Radiology Tech
Duration: Permanent
Shift: Days/ Evening / Nights - 8/10hr shifts (40 proposed hr Weekly) Every other Weekend
Location: Salem, VA
WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THIS ROLE:
- Provide information to diagnose patient illnesses, by operating radiologic equipment to produce radiographs.
- Prior to each exam, prepare the patient for radiological procedure through proper positioning and image technique, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
- Maintain production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures.
- Document patient care services by charting in-patient and department records.
- You will review each exam for technical accuracy and identify anatomical orientation on all images.
- Assist the radiologist in administering medications, contrast agents and all types of care to the patient.
- Participate in emergency call rotation to meet department needs.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates Degree or equivalent Military Radiologic Technologist training.
- REQUIRED: Current American Registry of Radiologic Technology/ARRT.
- REQUIRED: State license (VA) must be in process by submission (could take 8-10 weeks)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
