Position Name: Registered Nurse (Medical Surgical – Neuro)

Duration : 13 weeks

Location: Charlotte, NC

Shift: Night, 3*12hrs.

Position Summary:

• Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical-Surgical Neuro Unit is responsible for providing high-quality, comprehensive nursing care to patients with neurological conditions.
• This role involves the application of the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients with various neurological and neurosurgical conditions in a medical-surgical setting.
• RN will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective patient outcomes and deliver compassionate, patient-centered care.

Essential Functions:

• Perform comprehensive assessments of patients with neurological conditions, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, and other neuro disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments and diagnoses.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Provide post-operative care to neurosurgery patients, ensuring proper wound care and monitoring for complications.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to recognize changes in patient conditions and take appropriate action.
• Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to plan and coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients and their families on conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
• Adhere to infection control policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to unit-based projects to enhance patient care.

Education:

• Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program

Experience required:

• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical-surgical or neuro unit.
• Need experience in Stroke & Neuro

Certificate/License:

• RN license in MI
• BCLS
• NIHSS
