Information Technology Support SpecialistSalary: $39,000 - $51,000

General Description:

Performs computer systems support work in a help desk setting, providing first-line assistance for operational problems of information technology systems.

Responsibilities:

• Review and prioritize incoming operational issues and requests for technical assistance related to computers, software, and standard office equipment.
• Identify and log the type of problem or request and monitor the status to ensure timely resolution.
• Provide routine technical assistance in troubleshooting software, hardware, and office equipment such as phones, printers, and fax machines.
• Recognize and escalate difficult problems to a higher level of support.
• Follow installation standards, operating standards, and new procedures.
• Install, maintain, and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, or information resources equipment.
• Perform related work as assigned.

General Qualification Guidelines:

• Education or Experience in a field relevant to the work being performed.
• Knowledge of the practices, principles, and techniques of computer operations; information systems; computer software and hardware; and information security policies and procedures.
• Skill in computer support, applicable programs and systems, and troubleshooting information systems.
• Ability to operate information technology systems and communicate effectively.

Requirements:

• Proven experience or education as an IT Support Specialist or in a relevant position.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication ability.
• Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
• In-depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks.
• Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles.
• Capable of running cable and climbing a ladder.
• Able to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• CompTIA A certification (recommended).
