About the Sustainability team:

NETSCOUT is committed to reducing our environmental impact and enhancing sustainability across all operations, products and services. In order to meet our ambitious emissions reduction goals and align with a sustainable future, we undertake innovative projects aimed at promoting energy efficiency, reducing emissions, and fostering a culture of sustainability.

You will work closely with our Sustainability Lead and other team members on various projects aimed at reducing emissions and enhancing sustainability practices at NETSCOUT. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sustainability initiatives within a tech environment.

We are seeking a passionate and driven intern to join our Sustainability team for the summer. As our Sustainability intern, you will contribute to a variety of projects that support our sustainability initiatives such as:

• Implementing innovative energy efficiency measures using software in our data centers, automatically reducing energy consumption in server labs in low-use scenarios like nights and weekends
• Enabling sustainability monitoring to understand and improve our environmental performance.
• Designing educational materials to raise awareness and educate employees about the best sustainability practices.

Basic Qualifications/Skills:

• Develop and modify scripts to support data center lab sustainability projects.
• Assist in the collection and analysis of data related to environmental performance.
• Develop engaging educational content and resources for employees.
• Reduce carbon emissions footprint of our global data center labs by scaling up our pilot study which automatically powers off unused servers over the weekend
• Engage people on sustainability topics and initiatives

Preferred Qualification/Skills:

• Passion for sustainability, technology, and learning new things
• Interest in data analysis and scripting, with some experience scripting or programming preferred.
• Transferrable data analysis and software skills for coding and scripting
• Project experience in energy or sustainability areas
• Exceptional organizational, remote teamwork, and communication skills
