The Clinical Histology Technologist conducts moderate to high complexity testing on clinical specimens in the hospital histology laboratory

Education:

Valid license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist issued by NYSED, Primary Source Verification required. BLS preferred.

• Performs routine microbiological/immunological testing of specimens on technologist level in Histology, Microbiology Chemistry, and/or Blood Bank areas. Checks specimens for accuracy and appropriate containers. Correctly subcultures to specific media for optimal recovery of microbes. Possesses ability to identify presence of microbes by culture, antibody or other means. Possesses ability to perform antibiotic susceptibilities if applicable.
