Neurodevelopmental Institute of NH is Hiring an Emergency Department Diversion Worker (Mental Health) Near Hooksett, NH

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Work with children and families face to face on a regular basis up to 30 hours per week

· Complete all required paperwork, including daily documentation of progress towards treatment goals

· Help with scheduling all necessary appointments with collateral agencies

· Daily check-ins with assigned clients and their families up to 5 days per week, M-Su, as coordinated with family and other assigned ED Diversion Worker

· Transport client to appointments as necessary

· Attend meetings with collateral agencies (i.e. schools, DCYF, therapists) pertaining to the client

· Meet face to face with the client and family for up to 4 hours per day

· Communicate with peers and collaterals any perceived needs the client and/or his/her family may have

· Perform assigned duties as directed by your supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or a Related Field

· First Aid/CPR certified (Preferred)

· NAPPI certified (Preferred)

· Reliable transportation with a clean driving record (Travel is required throughout the State of NH)

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Communication Skills: ED Diversion/Community Outreach Workers need to talk with clients and understand their needs. You will also need to speak with others on your client's behalf, and act as an advocate for them. Good listening skills, speaking in an understandable way and being a good communicator is crucial.
  • Compassion: Community Outreach Workers will be working with people who are sometimes in dire situations or going through difficult transitions. Being compassionate to their situation and working with them in a positive way will help them make good forward strides.
  • Time-Management and Organizational Skills: Community Outreach Workers have multiple clients with various needs and are in various stages of need. There is a lot of paperwork that will need to be filled out and you will be working with government officials, as well as other workers. You will need to be organized and efficient with your time.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Clients are looking for someone to help them find solutions to their problems. You will need to think critically and clearly about their situations to find solutions.

Job Types: Part-time, Per diem

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 – 40 per week
