Job Description
Nevada State College (NSC) invites applications for the position of Manager - Learning and Development.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President (AVP) of Human Resources, the Manager - Learning and Development will be responsible for the development and delivery of comprehensive employee training, learning, development, and leadership programs. This position will work to align programs and initiatives with organizational mission, values, and culture and in support of career development, growth, and upward mobility of the institution's workforce.
In collaboration with the AVP, the Manager will also conduct ongoing campus-wide needs assessments and will actively search, create, and design effective methods to educate, develop, and enhance employee performance, engagement, and satisfaction.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement employee learning and development, and organizational development and effectiveness programs and initiatives that are aligned with Nevada State's mission, values, and culture.
  • Develop systems and infrastructure for all learning and development programs by standardizing methods for delivery, evaluation, and measurement; manage and maintain the institution's Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Design and maintain communication strategies related to learning and development events and opportunities.
  • Conduct regular needs assessments to ensure that learning and development programs support the needs of the organization and employees.
  • Periodically assess the effectiveness of efforts and make and/or recommend adjustments as needed.
  • In consultation with the AVP, provide leadership and direction in developing and implementing comprehensive career progression and succession planning programs.
  • Develop, manage, and implement Nevada State's Leadership Academy.
  • In collaboration with the AVP and campus leadership, provide guidance and recommendations for developing, revising, and enhancing employee recognition and performance programs.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Two (2) or more years of professional experience developing and delivering employee training programs.
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS).
  • Demonstrated experience and competency utilizing MS suite program (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (NSC does not sponsor employment-related visas).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree
  • Certificate in Learning and Development, Curriculum Development, Human Resources, or specific curriculum for adult education.
  • Experience developing and managing comprehensive learning and development strategies and programs.
  • Experience working in Higher Education.
  • Experience utilizing Adobe Captivate or other e-learning design software.
  • Experience utilizing Workday or other HRIS platforms.
Salary & Benefits
Budgeted salary range for this position is $65,000. Nevada State College offers excellent benefits, including 15.50% retirement match, 24 annual leave days, beginning balance of 30 sick leave days, 11 paid holidays, educational benefits, and the choice of three health insurance plans that can be supplemented with flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts.
