We are seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to join our team and contribute to the efficient and welcoming environment of our dental office. The ideal candidate will assist in providing exceptional customer service, supporting administrative tasks, and ensuring smooth dental procedures. Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients upon their arrival at the dental office
- Prepare patients for treatments or examinations, ensuring their comfort throughout
- Set up instruments, equipment, and materials required for procedures
- Adhere to strict sterilization protocols for all instruments following regulations
- Assist the dentist during procedures utilizing 4-handed dentistry techniques
- Perform laboratory tasks as directed by the dental team
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental treatment room, ensuring adequate stock levels
- Schedule patient appointments efficiently
- Keep accurate patient records and assist with billing procedures
Qualifications:
- Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant
- Familiarity with dental instruments and proper sterilization methods
- Understanding of health and safety regulations in a dental setting
- Proficiency in tasks such as coronal polishing is advantageous
- Strong computer skills for recordkeeping and scheduling purposes
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- High school diploma required; completion of a dental assistant program preferred
- Additional certifications or training (e.g., EFDA) are considered assets
