New Belgium Brewing Company is Hiring an Instrumentation Technician Near Michigan, MI

Instrumentation Technician

The Instrumentation Technician is responsible for all instrumentation calibration and supporting activities. This position aids all production areas of the brewery as well as the engineering, electrical department and planning process.

Essential Duties:

  • Conduct instrumentation calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs
  • Updates procedures to support instrumentation calibration and maintenance
  • Document results of work in appropriate form, log, and/or database
  • Address questions and resolves problems regarding instrumentation matters
  • Troubleshoot control systems (PLC and Controllogix)
  • Work with engineers and electricians to solve short and long-term issues
  • Support and provide feedback on possible process improvements.
  • Assist with new instrumentation selections and installations
  • Primary liaison to instrumentation vendors
  • Actively supports the Maintenance, Electrical and Engineering teams
  • Ability to prioritize and schedule own day to day workload
  • Use trending data to troubleshoot emergency and long-term problems

Education/ Experience/Skills:

  • 4 years of experience in food and beverage manufacturing
  • Experience in instrumentation calibration or maintenance, preferred
  • Basic understanding of instrumentation and controls
  • Basic electrical skills and abilities desired
  • Solid mechanical skills and abilities desired
  • Some experience in troubleshooting ControlLogix is preferred 
  • Understanding of manufacturing process flow and process control methodologies is desired
  • Brewing process and analytical experience is a plus
  • Ability to understand different communication protocols; I/O, HART and Ethernet IP
  • Basic understanding of automation and process control matters
  • Good communication, documentation, and writing skills
  • Solid computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel)
  • Previous LOTO experience

Wage information is provided in compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and is Bell’s and New Belgium's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation range and benefits offered for this position. The compensation offered to the successful applicant may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, or other position-related reasons.

Starting Wage Range: $23.00 - $26.50
