Shift Details: Work (2) 12 hour shifts 7pm to 7:30am, ever other weekend, rotating holidays

The Hospital of Central Connecticut is an acute-care community teaching hospital, we provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services in general medicine and surgery, as well as a wide variety of specialties. Our Nurses work in collaborative environments with strong interdisciplinary teams, focused on a patient centered care model in a richly diverse workspace. Under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizes evidence-based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, policies and procedures of the hospital and as directed by the medical staff. The registered nurse who through knowledge and ability, uses the nursing process to develop a plan of care which includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of the patient and family.

The Float Pool at The Hospital of Central Connecticut is comprised of experienced, highly skilled Nursing professionals. Registered Nurses on the Float Pool Team have a variety of skills, allowing them to transition from one specialty to another with confidence and ease. The Float Pool Team floats to our 10 units which include ED Observation/ Overflow ,Cardiology, Med / Surg, Surgical, Oncology, Orthopedic, Neurology, and Med / Surg at the Bradley Campus. Our RNs rely on extensive nursing skills, strong communication and collaboration skills to assimilate seamlessly into different units and provide the highest levels of personalized, compassionate care to our patients.

Qualifications

Minimum one-year recent Acute Care RN experience required.

Current Connecticut RN License required prior to start date.

Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN preferred).

BLS certification by the American Heart Association

Demonstrates excellence in customer service

Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.

Self-directed in clinical responsibilities.

Ability to manage and organize multiple clinical priorities.

Ability to delegate to achieve patient outcomes.
