- Prepare social work assessments when appropriate
- Engages with families to assess needs as appropriate
- Consults with teachers to support students’ educational program

- Provides groups for parents dealing with educational issues
- Provides short-term family counseling to facilitate student participation in educational program
- Works with families in ameliorating psychosocial stressors
- Participates with team in providing crisis intervention services
- Makes referrals to appropriate community services
- Provides information on community services to families and school personnel
- Communicates regularly with outside agencies and providers regarding student support
- Holds Connecticut State Certification in School Social Work
