New Energy Equity is Hiring a Senior Sales Executive, C&I Solar Near Annapolis, MD

As a Senior Sales Executive, C&I Solar for New Energy Equity, the candidate will establish new accounts by planning daily schedules to reach potential clients. Responsibilities include preparing and adjusting sales presentations, submitting proposals, and diligently following up with contacts. The candidate will record sales activities in Salesforce, collaborate with the Sales and Marketing teams, and update management through regular reviews and performance analyses. Additionally, the candidate will monitor competitor pricing and offerings, recommend strategic adjustments, and maintain professional knowledge through various professional development activities. Keeping historical sales and prospecting records and supporting the team with related tasks are also key parts of the role. The position can be based in Annapolis, MD; Boulder, CO; Roseville, MN; or Horseheads, NY. This is a hybrid position that currently requires a minimum of 3 full days in the office.

Job Objectives:

  • Establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on potential sales opportunities.
  • Nurture client relationships in order to build out a robust sales pipeline.
  • Submits proposals and follows up with contacts.
  • Meet or exceed sales quotas and sales KPIs.
  • Catalogs sales activity in Salesforce.
  • Keeps management informed through pipeline review calls, monthly / annual performance analyses.
  • Work closely with management and in-house counsel to negotiate contracts.
  • Gather relevant information to support forecasting and project pricing.
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, and new offerings.
  • Recommends changes in strategy and tactics based on evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; attending industry conferences.
  • Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

Education:

  • College degree or 8 years of relevant experience

Experience:

  • 3 years of proven B2B sales experience, ideally in commercial solar
  • Ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of the solar industry including basics of system design and construction, product knowledge, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience negotiating multi-million-dollar contracts

Special Requirements:

  • Must possess a high level of computer proficiency, working knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to learn and effectively use a variety of computer programs, plus the ability to use a variety of office equipment.
  • Strong networking ability and the ability to constantly expand your customer base.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail
