New Hanover County is Hiring a Licensed Clinical Therapist Supervisor (School Mental Health) Near Hanover, NC

New Hanover County is searching for a Licensed Clinical Therapist Mental Health Supervisor to join the School Mental Health team at the Health and Human Services Agency. This position provides supervision to a team of licensed clinical therapists who work with student clients in county schools providing therapeutic services and plays a pivotal role in leading and inspiring a team of skilled therapists. Proven leadership skills are essential to successfully set the tone for the team, drive clinical excellence, and maintain a culture of accountability and compassion.

Duties include 

  • Providing supervision to staff such as prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
  • Ensuring staff are trained including providing clinical supervision of associate-level therapists to satisfy their full licensure requirements.
  • Serving as a resource to therapists by fielding inquiries and providing expert guidance.
  • Performing quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with funding and program guidelines.
  • Consulting with individuals, families, school staff, and other partnering organizations to evaluate the quality of services received and satisfaction with program delivery.
  • Coordinating operations of the program to ensure services meet the needs of clients and students.
  • Reviewing clinical evaluations, intake assessments, individual treatment plans, therapeutic service delivery, reports, and other documentation for accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Assisting with the formulation of goals and objectives for the program.
  • Collaborating with the billing office regarding billing information, errors, and changes to insurance systems.
  • Consulting with school staff and collaborating services with professionals in the community.

Hours: Hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday. Must be available to work during emergency situations.
 
Salary Information:
The hiring range for this position is $71,920 - $97,091. Salary is negotiable, depending on qualifications. Salary will be determined based on qualifications, internal equity, budget, and market considerations.
 
 Bilingual candidates able to read, speak, and write in Spanish and English with the same degree of fluency are eligible for a 5% differential when performing duties utilizing this skill during the course of performing work duties.

Master’s Degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Counseling, or related field, and seven (7) years of licensed clinical therapist experience.

Must have current licensure as a clinical social worker (LCSW), professional counselor (LPC), clinical mental health counselor (LCMHC), Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA), or licensed clinical mental health counselor supervisor (LCMHCS), with eligibility to practice in the state of North Carolina. Must have a good driving record and own transportation.

  • Valid NC Drivers License
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or
  • Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) or
  • Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHCS) or
  • Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA)
