Position Job Title: Field Assistant
FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt
Position SummaryAssist with coordinating construction activities as required to meet production schedules and established quality standards.
Specific Job DutiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Job Site and Community Management:
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of job sites on a daily basis
- Lock homes under construction at the end of each workday and ensure all windows are properly closed
- Perform load counts for dirt removal
- Maintain the sandbags during winter construction
- Maintain the company storage facility
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the construction trailer
- Perform pick up items that do not fall in a Trade Partner’s scope of work
- Takes delivery of appliances and light fixtures to homes for installation
- Inventory material deliveries for hardware, windows, light fixtures and appliances and report any quantity or quality problems to the Site Manager
- Report any necessary repairs on homes under construction to the Site Manager
- Perform general repairs and punch out work
- Report any problems, damages, oversights or hazardous conditions to the Site Manager
- Assist with all other special projects or tasks as directed by management
- Make sure all SWPPP activities and reports are completed as required and in a timely manner.
- Continue to improve construction knowledge by learning and understand the schedule, sequence of work and requirements.
Position QualificationsEducation
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- N/A
- Prior construction experience preferred
- Ability to read, write and speak English required
- Ability to speak a secondary language preferred
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license
- Must present a clean, neat personal appearance
- Good organizational skills required
- Must be punctual
- Position requires driving as needed, frequency varies by location
- Valid driver’s license required
- This position often requires driving during the workday. As a contingency of employment, a background check, inclusive of an MVR, will be completed. The occurrence of major violations including but not limited to Driving Under the Influence, Driving While Intoxicated, and Reckless Driving may preclude coverage by New Home Co.’s auto insurance carrier and as a result may preclude employment with the Company
