New Hope of Indiana is Hiring a Communications and Engagement Specialist Near Indianapolis, IN

New Hope of Indiana is seeking a Communications & Engagement Specialist to join our growing team. Work schedule is general business hours; however, occasional flexibility is required to accommodate evening and extended hours as business dictates. You will report to our Director of Fundraising and Marketing.
What we are looking for: Communications & Engagement Specialist
You will be responsible for implementing all internal and external communications strategies, leading the organization's engagement activities for individuals served, and the recruitment and engagement of volunteers. You will work collaboratively with all levels of leadership and program staff to continually develop and implement marketing, communications, and volunteer strategies.
What your day to day looks like: Communications & Engagement Specialist
  • Work with the Director of Fundraising and Marketing, to develop and implement marketing, internal and external communications, public relations and engagement plan with short- and long-term benchmarks and objectives
  • Create and manage the organization's social media content
  • Maintain and update the organization's website as needed
  • Responsible for the preparation and delivery of internal and external communication to associates and stakeholders including 3 monthly newsletters
  • Serve as the staff lead for the Silver Cup Celebration Committee and the Marketing Committee of the New Hope board of directors and attend board meetings as needed
  • Lead volunteer engagement for the organization, working in collaboration with other departments to identify, promote and staff volunteer opportunities
  • Track, analyze, and communicate relevant metrics to demonstrate marketing effectiveness and drive ongoing improvement
  • Develop content for all departments including the organization's Annual Report, special event materials, program brochures, and other printed collateral
  • Identify and implement opportunities for partnerships and cooperation with outside organizations that positively increase brand visibility, awareness and volunteer engagement
  • Maintain inventory of all organization marketing and promotional materials
  • Support the planning and leadership of the annual fundraiser the Silver Cup Celebration.
  • Serve as staff lead for organization events such Fall Festival, Bingo, and other engagement opportunities for individuals served
  • Utilize ethical decision making when choosing among conflicting priorities

What you bring to the table: Communications & Engagement Specialist
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university OR must have 5 years of experience in lieu of degree
  • Prior experience in a role that requires writing business communications at a nonprofit agency OR in a business setting
  • Must have experience creating or managing social media content
  • Must possess a valid Indiana Driver's License and meet New Hope of Indiana driving record guidelines
  • Effective leadership, decision making, problem solving, financial, business writing, and presentation skills are required
