New Horizons is the largest mental health and addiction recovery provider on the Treasure Coast (and beyond), serving 15,000 children and adults annually through inpatient crisis services, 24-hour help line and mobile response team, and outpatient programs conveniently located across Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties. In addition, New Horizons assists 22,000 students in area schools, and we work closely with the courts, law enforcement, jails, and hospitals to help improve the health of individuals and the quality of life in our community.
We are looking for a vigilant Security Guard who can respond to emergencies, check visitors in and out, monitor the premises, and handle communication with staff and visitors. D license is preferred.
Hiring Full-Time, 9am-6pm Monday thru Friday

As a Security Guard your responsibilities will include
- Assists in maintaining safe and orderly facility operations
- Patrols building and building perimeter to prevent unauthorized individuals
- Prevents unauthorized visitors from entering and/or loitering on facility grounds
- Reports accurately in both verbal and written form all incidents
- Informs supervisor of the need to contact or involve local law enforcement
- Conducts safety inspections and acts as the facility Safety Spotter
- May escort individuals to appropriate areas within the facility
- Recognizes and takes the lead for addressing signs of aggressive behavior and appropriately utilizes Effective De-Escalation Management (CARE) to re-direct and prompt safe and appropriate behavior
New Horizons will need you to have the following qualifications
- Full time schedule
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a behavioral setting and 3 years security background preferred
- Valid Florida Driver's License with 6 points or less in the last 3 years
- Valid D License preferred
- Flexible schedule
