IT Support Specialist

New Brunswick, NJ Office (5 days a week)

NJ Community Capital IT Department is a fast-paced group with a strong focus on sound security principles and solid technology solutions.

The department's main goal is to deploy, maintain and integrate software and hardware that drive the organization's mission forward.

We aim to increase the efficiency of each staff member by solving problems and proactively seeking and resolving potential issues.

We are also working to maximize the value of organizational data by integrating various software platforms and leveraging analytics and visualization tools.

Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Exchange, TCP/IP, DNS, Active Directory, networking hardware, laptop/desktop hardware, and other current equipment and technologies.
  • Experience working as a help desk technician or in a similar customer support role.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware and software systems and resolving a variety of technical issues.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision and collaborate well with the Director of IT.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, analyze, organize, attend to detail, and follow through.
  • Passionate about helping people troubleshoot with a strong, "can do" attitude.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity practices, tools, and policies.
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in computer science or network engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Resolve all user support issues and requests including troubleshooting and escalation where needed.
  • Track and report on all help desk requests.
  • Configure, deploy, and support all workstation software and hardware, printers, phones, conferencing equipment, and networking hardware.
  • Perform administrative tasks and changes on various platforms including Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, and Salesforce.
  • Work directly with vendors to perform software and hardware deployment, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform auditing of various IT systems and prepare reports.
  • Create and maintain IT Department documentation including procedures, guides, and department communications with staff.
  • Train staff members on cybersecurity practices, organization IT policies, the use of Windows and widely used applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and Salesforce.
  • Assist the Director of IT with planning, coordination, and execution of IT projects.
  • Maintain asset management system for IT hardware and software including inventory of workstation peripherals
