SALARY: The salary range for this position is $49,096.79 to $80,436.91 for Schedule A, and $49,096.79 to $76,415.06 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater.Judiciary employees hired prior to June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule B.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Bergen Vicinage is seeking a detail-oriented human resources professional who is committed to providing exceptional customer service. The successful candidate must be a team player who possesses strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Under the general direction of the Human Resources Division Manager and Human Resources Supervisor, the successful candidate must have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, have a high degree of accuracy in all work performed, be goal-oriented, and demonstrate exceptional writing and communication skills. In addition, the successful candidate must possess the skills to execute and complete special projects, possess excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills, and have superior computer skills including knowledge of MS Office. This individual must also possess knowledge of human resource practices, including but not limited to federal, state, and local government regulations and have the ability to interpret Judiciary policies, procedures, regulations, laws, and bargaining unit agreements and accurately communicate this information to management and staff.
REMOTE WORK : The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.
Example of Duties

This position will be responsible for performing a variety of general human resources functions, including but not limited to:
  • Handle aspects of recruitment
  • Compile statistical reports
  • Assist with planning and implementing special projects, programs, and events
  • Develop procedures to ensure efficient operation of the division
  • Communicate Human Resources policies/procedures to vicinage staff
  • Advise management on Human Resources issues
  • Participate in team or work unit meetings and special projects
  • Compose routine correspondence
  • Verify data against source documents
  • Maintain recordkeeping systems
  • Tabulate statistical data
  • Conduct research
  • Attend job fairs and community outreach events
  • Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.
Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits. An associate's degree and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
Applicants who are approaching their anticipated graduation date may apply. If selected, the applicant must complete their degree no later than their start date.
