SALARY: The hourly rate for this position is $23.50.

THE POSITION IS LIMITED TO A MAXIMUM OF 944 HOURS IN A FISCAL YEAR
The Morris/Sussex Vicinage is searching for a team-oriented individual who possesses strong interpersonal skills, manages and organizes information and sharp eye-hand coordination, with a keen ability to reason and apply technology to tasks. The selected candidate will perform a variety of clerical, administrative, and supportive tasks. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: data entry of documents filed with the courts; updating case related information; customer service tasks including assisting clients at the intake counter; moderate court proceedings via audio visual programs such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams; operate and test court recording equipment and perform other related duties as required.
Although the position is within the Morris Criminal Division, travel to the Sussex County Judicial Center (Newton, NJ) and other Judiciary locations may be required. 
Experience: One year of experience in an office environment performing a variety of clerical and support services to include keyboarding and one or more of the following: document or information processing, handling payments for fees, recording monies received, reconciling balances or accounts and/or scheduling meetings or appointments.
Testing: Candidates for appointment must pass an appointing authority qualifying examination to demonstrate keyboarding skills at the Judiciary standard of at least 25 words per minute or possess a current typing proficiency certification issued by the New Jersey Department of Personnel.
Physical Ability: For some positions, applicants must have the ability to perform work which requires climbing and prolonged standing, stretching, bending and reaching. The selected candidate must be able to frequently lift and carry supplies weighing from 30 to 50 pounds and, occasionally, materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
Driver's License: Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
Special Note: Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting. All data received will be kept in strict confidence except to inform the individual of the findings and what action will be taken as a result of this information.
Residency Law: In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the "New Jersey First Act," all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor & Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.

The Administrative Office of the Courts provides technical assistance, operational support, training, research and development, budget and personnel coordination, and development and operation of information systems for the Courts of New Jersey.
