IET Social Worker

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Employment-focused, data-driven, nonprofit organization serving justice-involved individuals currently seeking a New Jersey State Licensed Social Worker or Certified Social Worker for the

Institutional Enrollment Team (IET.) This is a part-time position, Monday through Friday. Some evening/weekend events may be required.

This position will be mainly field based and the candidate will be expected to travel to other sites, treatment facilities and county jails throughout the state. Currently the team is based at Morris County Jail (Morristown,) Bergen County Jail (Hackensack,) Warren County Jail (Belvidere,) New Bridge Medical Center (Paramus,) Veritas Recovery Center (South Amboy,) and The Discovery Institute (Marlboro.)

The team predominately operates out of the Union County and Monmouth County NJRC offices. This position will be primarily responsible for Morris County clients.

Responsibilities:

The IET Social Worker will, at a minimum, conduct biopsychosocial assessments; assist clients with their intake paperwork, fill out Birth Certificate and Social Security Card Applications and provide

intervention plans with clients for discharge from their facilities.

This position is designed to assist clients who are still incarcerated in county jails or are engaged in inpatient treatment at substance abuse facilities to improve their reentry outcomes by having a comprehensive discharge plan. Social Security Cards and Birth Certificates will be ordered prior to a client being discharged. After a client is discharged the social worker will assist in coordinating the client’s transfer to the appropriate NJRC site for ongoing services.

This position will be crucial in building interest and community engagement in Morris County. The social worker will be point of contact for community partners and assist in coordinating outreach/presentations and enrollment offsite at various community agencies (Nourish and Family Promise.)

Organization and data entry are crucial to manage multiple agencies and to track data and statistics on clients in order to build interest and resources.

Social Worker will be in field at least 3 days of the 5-day week.

Required Qualifications:

 Minimum of two (2) years professional social work experience

 Working knowledge of criminal justice issues

 Experience conducting biopsychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, and case management in a high-volume setting

 Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and exceptional data entry skills

 A strengths-based, respectful, and trauma-informed approach to services is an absolute requirement for the position

 Ability to work in an interdisciplinary client-centered team

Preferred Qualifications:

 Direct experience with justice-involved citizens

 Experience with program development
