The Fiber Optic Splicer will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic cables and associated equipment. 

• Splice and terminate fiber optic cables using fusion splicing and mechanical splicing techniques.
• Test and troubleshoot fiber optic networks using specialized equipment such as OTDRs, power meters, and light sources.
• Diagnose and resolve fiber optic cable faults, signal degradation, and connectivity issues in a timely manner.
• Install, maintain, and repair fiber optic cables, splice enclosures, and related equipment.
• Perform fiber optic cable audits and documentation of network infrastructure.
• Collaborate with operations teams to plan and execute fiber optic network expansion projects.
• Adhere to safety standards and procedures while working with fiber optic equipment and in various work environments.
• Keep accurate records of splicing and testing activities, equipment inventory, and maintenance schedules.
• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies related to fiber optic splicing and network infrastructure.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Provide technical support and assistance to customers, including explaining installation procedures and troubleshooting network problems.
• Overtime and on-call as needed. 

Requirements

· Proven experience as a Fiber Optic Fiber Splicer in telecommunications or related industry.

· Proficiency in fusion splicing and mechanical splicing techniques.

· Strong understanding of fiber optic network architectures, components, and testing equipment.

· Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and documentation.

· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

· Willingness to work in various environments, including outdoor settings and confined spaces.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

· Ability to operate various office equipment such as computers, various software programs and telephone systems.

· Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.

· Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills.

· High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in fiber optics preferred.

· Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with the ability to travel to different job sites as needed.
