New Mexico Department of Health is Hiring an A/O II-Finance Director (DOH/NMBHI # 13156) Near Las Vegas, NM

Salary $35.04 - $56.07 Hourly
$72,885 - $116,616 Annually

Posting Details This posting will be used for 30 days to conduct ongoing recruitment and will remain open until the position and/or positions have been filled.
Why does the job exist? This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department to include managing the Operating Budget.
How does it get done? Responsible for providing leadership, guidance, training, mentoring and daily management of the Finance Department for the facility. Coordinate and direct oversight of the day-to-day operations in Accounts Payable, Data Processing, Purchasing, Admission, Contracts, Budgets, Accounts Receivable, and Mail room assuring compliance with all State and Federal laws, rules, regulations/requirements established by multiple oversight agencies (Department of Health, Department of Finance/Administration/The Joint Commission, etc.). Prepare, maintain, and administer all financial accounting records and ensure that the general ledger is accurate and in accordance with General Accepted Accounting Principles. Develop/maintain the facility's ~ $65M operating budget and direct oversight of fiscal deadlines. Submission of supportive documentation for single audit to include information for Cost Reports. Daily professional interaction with staff in creating a respectful/positive atmosphere where employees are valued and provide on-the-job support/training. Organizing workflows and ensuring that employees understand their duties/delegated tasks and monitoring productivity/providing constructive feedback/coaching. Resolving employee issues by building strong/productive working relationships utilizing trust and effective communication skills.

Ideal Candidate Ideal candidate will have:
Experience in accounting principles, managing complex revenue funding streams, and auditing.
Experience in providing effective leadership, mentoring, guidance, and management;
Experience with building strong/productive working relationships;
Experience with conflict resolution and developing employees;
Experience with supervising a multi-disciplinary team;
Experience with organizing daily operations and providing feedback to senior management.
Minimum Qualification A Bachelor's Degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and eight (8) years of professional level experience with a light strategic impact directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements.

Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
