Why does the job exist?

This position manages all administrative operations of the Public Health Division, Northwest Region. This includes budget and sources management, facilities management, vehicle fleet management, telecommunications management, and resource and capital asset management.

How does it get done?

This position will be responsible for:

• Budgetary, fiscal management, procurement, auditing, human resources activities, property management, vehicle management and scheduling for the Public Health Division, Northwest Region.
• Ensuring that the Region's administrative support infrastructure is functioning with the necessary tools and available resources.
• Supervising administrative support staff.
• Maintaining accountability of fixed assets and annual inventory.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has experience:

• Providing excellent customer service.
• Multitasking and addressing issues and concerns while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Making decisions related to budget utilization, resource allocation and vendor selection.
• Collaborating with county officials for building issues.
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Office and financial systems.

Minimum Qualification

Associate's degree in business administration, Public Administration or Accounting and two (2) years of directly related job experience in the areas of budgeting, accounting, auditing, purchasing, cash management and/or financial management. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Successful completion of Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPPA) and successful completion of Blood-borne pathogen training within thirty (30) days of employment.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Lifting up to 50 pounds may be required. Services are provided in a clinic with diverse population, many who do not speak the English language. Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm. Travel to satellite offices, meetings, training sessions, and special events with the occasional overnight stay is required.
