Public Health is a Division of the New Mexico Department of Health. The Southeast Region Public Health Division consists of 8 counties with 10 public health offices. Each office houses diverse staff members offering services promoting healthy behaviors to have a better quality of life.

Why does the job exist?
This position coordinates with region-wide emergency partners, and public health staff to prepare for and respond to emergencies caused by bioterrorism, infectious disease outbreaks, and other public health threats and emergencies for the Southeast Region.

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Lifting up to 50 pounds may be required. Services are provided in a clinic with diverse population, many who do not speak the English language. Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm. Travel to offices, meetings, training sessions, and special events with the occasional overnight stay is required.
