New Moms is Hiring an Education Support Specialist Near Oak Park, IL

Position OverviewIn this part-time role (20 hours/week), you will be responsible for providing support and coaching to individuals preparing for their High School Equivalency exams, as well as offering tutoring assistance for college success. Your time will be divided between supporting Workforce Development participants and Housing and Family Support participants, with a balanced allocation of 50% to each. As an Adult Education coach, you will actively uphold New Moms values, emphasizing our dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of work. This role is primarily based at our Oak Park office, with regular visits to our Austin and East Garfield Park locations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support and coach participants in preparing for their High School Equivalency exams
  • Provide tutoring support to enhance college success
  • Allocate 50% of time to supporting Workforce Development participants and 50% to Housing and Family Support participants
  • Advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in strategic planning and performance
ScheduleYou will be required to work two full days (8:30 am - 4:30 pm) and one half day (4 hours) weekly. A full day on Monday is crucial to meet programmatic needs, while the other two days can be negotiated upon hire.
CompensationStarting Hourly Rate: $23-$24/hour (Depending on Qualifications)
