New Orleans Public Facility Mngt, Inc. is Hiring a National Account Manager – Special Market Sales Near Orleans, LA

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Develop and implement a sales plan with the DOS to solicit, negotiate, and contract special events to maintain and achieve additional sources of revenue.

  • Monitor sales objectives and action plans relative to securing non-traditional business.
  • Strategically plan and seek out improved methods for obtaining non-traditional business.
  • Work cooperatively and expeditiously with New Orleans & Company and peer groups within the hospitality industry on the planning and execution of joint sales efforts.
  • Conduct site visits taking the lead on all logistics with the goal of confirming the event.
  • Use the Event Management System to review and track leads for special events that source the Center.
  • Participate in assigned industry/professional organizations.

Follow established MCCNO sales procedures and best practices, while making recommendations to improve these procedures when applicable.

  • Prepare written proposals, contracts and bid presentations utilizing established pricing guidelines.
  • Maintain, schedule and track regular contact and/or recommended follow-up of accounts through event management system. .
  • Cross-sell all of MCCNO’s profit centers.
  • Coordinate client meetings as necessary in order to confirm business.
  • Oversee and manage the sales contracting process of all special events including involving legal when needed.
  • Provide clients with all necessary information relative to the staging of their events.

Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the MCCNO Facility Use Contract/Rules and Regulations and how they are applied.

  • Guide clients in the preparation of events ensuring an understanding of the facility rules and regulations, policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Meet with clients and participate in facility planning meetings with the events team as necessary.
  • Establish and monitor departmental communications procedures to ensure that all departmental personnel are aware of all contractual and potential commitments.
  • Work collaboratively with MCCNO departments and demonstrate a strong knowledge of all policies regarding safety, operations, and work procedures.

Experience

Required
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; and four to six years related experience and/or training in a convention, hotel and/or large multi-purpose facility preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred
  • Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) certification preferred.
