New Point Life Services is Hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP)- NA/PCA Near North, VA

Our Mission: Empowering a Life of Independence and OpportunitySummary:The (NA/PCA) DSP is responsible for providing support to adults with developmental disabilities in the home and community setting. The care is compassionate and unrestrictive and strives to help the person being supported with living a meaningful life. DSP's will provide supports with life skill management, relationships, and providing new experiences and opportunities. In addition, day to day tasks such as personal care, cleaning, medication administration, and record keeping are required.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support in accordance with each Individual Support Plan (ISP) and Behavioral Support Plans (BSP).
  • Provide appropriate levels of supervision and support as indicated in the plan(s).
  • Offers activities that are individualized and person-centered.
  • Provides supports on an individualized basis in making choices in achieving life skills, community integration, and participation.
  • Maintain the health and safety of those assigned and provide safe rides for community engagement.
  • Support individuals with daily personal tasks, including personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, preparing meals, and feeding.
  • Provide supports with housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, moping, dusting, washing dishes, completely laundry, and tidying up.
  • Administer medications.
  • Complete all required documentation, including electronic documentation.
  • Complete Event Reports and behavior data according to program requirements.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Or 1-year preferred experience working with dual diagnosed population (ID/DD)
  • Valid Virginia Driver License
  • Must past a background check
  • NA/PCA certification
Minimum Skills
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently use computers or mobile devices to input, access, modify, or output information.
  • Ability to handle physical aspects of job, including bending, stooping, lifting (50 pounds or more), pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking for extended periods of time.
  • High level of multi-tasking
