Job Summary:
New Tech Global Environmental is seeking a Field Technician / Representative for our Carlsbad, New Mexico office. The ideal candidate will have 1-5 years of experience in the environmental and/or oil and gas industries. This position provides field and data management support as assigned by Project Managers.

Open to a Roustabout or Shovel Hand. 

Pay: $20-25/hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducts field activities, occasionally requiring overnight travel, as assigned by Project Managers including, but not limited to:
  • Sampling of environmental media including soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, air and waste.
  • Communicating job requirements and providing field oversight to earth work contractors, trucking companies, and other third-party vendors
  • Inspecting and auditing of facilities to evaluate compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Performing due diligence inspections, collecting SPCC data, and taking an inventory of upstream oil and gas sites.
• Procures and uses field instrumentation and equipment during inspection, assessment, and/or remediation activities.
• Works within a defined scope, schedule, and budget; communicates effectively with project managers.
• Documents field activities as specified in standard operating procedures and assists in the generation of technical reports.
• Ability to exert moderate physical effort, including the ability to lift 50 lbs in adverse weather conditions and temperatures
• Keeps current on knowledge of environmental and regulatory compliance requirements and sampling protocols in accordance with industry standards.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Capable of working independently in remote locations as well as in a team
• Travel required (approximately 75%). Though rare, travel can be for multiple weeks at a time.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and practices in Texas and New Mexico as they pertain to upstream and midstream oil and gas locations.
• Experience with ASTM standards
• Any secondary or minor miscellaneous duties as necessary.
• Performs all work in adherence to health and safety policies.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• 1 years of oil and gas field experience required, soil sample collection and remediation preferred.
• Experience in upstream oil and gas processes, equipment, and permitting preferred.
• Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently to succeed in a consulting environment.
• OSHA 40-hour Health & Safety training (preferred)
