New York Disaster Interfaith Services (NYDIS), a 501(c)(3) non-profit faith-based federation of faith communities, human services providers and charitable organizations who work in partnership to provide disaster readiness, response, and recovery services to New York City. Our affiliate, the NYC Emergency Shelter Network (ESN) coordinates and builds the capacity of congregation-based street homeless emergency shelter services and advocacy across 50 shelters in all five boroughs and is now expanding its programming to Asylum-Seeker shelters.
Reporting to the Clubhouse Director, the Deputy Clubhouse Director plays a pivotal role responsible for supporting the seamless operations of Clubhouse services under the guidance of the Clubhouse Program Director located in the Lower East Side. This position requires collaboration with clubhouse staff and members to ensure the efficient functioning of the daily activities and demands. The Deputy Clubhouse Program Director plays a key role in supervising program staff, facilitating employment support, and promoting the Clubhouse philosophy.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure the effective equity-based involvement of activities by both staff and members.
• Ensure the development and promotion of employment/education opportunities in the community
• Actively engage in the daily operation of the work order day in the unit.
• Implement and ensure the practice and standard for Clubhouse International accreditation
• Assist in the hiring, orientation, and training of new staff, practicum students, and volunteers
• Contribute to sound fiscal management, compliance and quality with contractual requirements.
• Support unit staff and team leaders in facilitating clubhouse units
• Support members in reaching employment goals, including resume development, interview preparation, and job searches.
• Manage Transitional Employment placements, including relationships with employers.
• Build relationships with community partners to enhance visibility and opportunities for Clubhouse members
• Represent the Clubhouse at events and conferences, presenting as needed
• Develop and/or assist in the development of reports with Director.
Qualifications
• Commitment to the mission and values of NYDIS
• Commitment to DEIB and documented proficiency in Asian & Latino cultural competency
• Bachelor’s Degree required – advanced degree in a relevant field preferred
• Significant experience in mental health related program management and administration preferred
• Knowledge of relevant best practices, regulations and compliance standards required
• Experience or familiarity with Clubhouse International standards preferred
• Strong executive and direct services leadership and interpersonal skills required
• Exceptional public speaking as well as writing/reporting skills
• Proven ability in budget management and fundraising required
• Computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook).
• Flexibility in terms of schedule.
• Bilingual required (Cantonese, Mandarin, Taishanese or Spanish preferred)
Salary range, $80,000 to $95,000, commensurate with education & experience – with excellent benefits.
