New York Health is Hiring a Surgical Coordinator (Bilingual English/Spanish) Near Elmhurst, NY
- Schedule office and/or hospital procedures per physician recommendation.
- Possess excellent customer service skills with patients, their families and members of the healthcare team is a must.
- Respond to both written and oral correspondence regarding scheduling changes/cancellations in a timely, accurate manner.
- Be able to manage demanding workload with accuracy.
- Compile Physician Schedules. Coordinate Resources (Anesthesia, Radiology, Equipment, etc.) Work in tandem with authorizations department to ensure procedures are authorized Work with electronic medical records. Help patients navigate through appointments to ensure all proper clearances have been obtained. Maintain relationships with various surgical facilities. Collect CPT and ICD Coding.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma (Bachelor’s Degree preferred) and 1-3 years of experience in healthcare scheduling or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Medical Assistant certification a plus)
- Urology experience a plus.
- Consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
