Nocturnist (multiple positions) sought by medical service provider in Stamford, CT. Supervise residents in medicine and family practice. Provide medical consultation to surgery and Ob/Gyn residents and provide emergency inpatient coverage. Evaluate complex problems and emergencies in unstable patients at the request of nursing staff or attending physician. Provide consultation in absence of attending physician. Assist in resident and medical student teaching. Act as attending of record for patients admitted from clinic. The Nocturnist does not teach any classes. The Nocturnist provides instruction and informal feedback to Internal Medicine and Family Medicine Residents on an on-going basis in on-the-job training. The Nocturnist discusses pathophysiology and formulation of appropriate differential diagnosis with Residents. Approximately 10% to 20% of time is dedicated to on-the-job training of Residents. $241,500 per annum. Requires: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree or foreign equivalent, license to practice medicine in Connecticut, board certification in internal medicine.
