Newmark is Hiring an Executive Communications Writer Near Denver, CO

The Executive Communications Writer is responsible for producing a variety of original, impactful, high-quality Corporate and Executive level Communications. You will report to and work directly with Corporate Communications leadership to create and execute a strategy and roadmap for executive and high-level communications that reinforce leadership vision, educate our stakeholders on the business, foster a sense of culture, and amplify the company’s brand and story. In this role, you’ll rely on your talent as a writer and storyteller to create the compelling company and business-related communications that engage our audiences. The content you develop will be authentic, interesting and easy to digest while adhering to corporate strategy, standards, brand positioning and tone of voice. 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Manage a forward-looking plan and calendar for Executive Communications; write and edit Executive Leadership Communications to reinforce Newmark’s vision and reputation, internally and externally:
  • Internal Leadership communications
  • Executive speeches for high visibility speaking engagements including Keynotes, Panels, Presentations
  • Social Media leadership messages and campaigns
  • Senior-level Biographies
  • Global event response communications
  • Media interviews/by-line articles
  • Write/edit high-level Corporate Communications
  • Develop and edit high-level Company Messaging to support strategic narratives and drive global brand story: Client communications, company talking points, company overviews.
  • Support education on the business through internal communications highlighting key company SMEs, promoting the company platform, growth and vision. 
  • Interview key internal stakeholders and distill discussions into thought-provoking written communications.
  • Communications writing guidelines governance; Ensure consistent messaging and voice across leadership/enterprise.
  • Thought leadership: Research and identify top tier editorial topics for company articles; industry benchmarking.
  • Edit and review corporate writing to constantly raise the bar on quality. 
  • Corporate and Enterprise level social media message development

Functional Skills include:

  • A highly skilled wordsmith who can create first-rate, standard-setting written content that is clear, compelling and captures audience attention via expository, descriptive and narrative writing styles
  • Exceptional writing and editing experience with a strong grasp of grammar and AP style conventions and a minimum of 10 years of experience working in this capacity.
  • Experience working directly with Executive Leadership
  • A proven ability to lead and execute communication strategies in other organizations.
  • Experienced with managing the multi-step revision cycle and approval process of executive-level copy; confident in distilling competing opinions for successful consensus building.
  • Able to quickly learn the commercial real estate business and write about it intelligently, clearly and with the audience's perspective in mind; Knowledge of commercial real estate or related field is a significant plus.
  • A demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply a corporate style guide and tone of voice.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage time and priorities to meet deadlines.
  • A nimble multi-tasker who works well under pressure
  • Highly articulate with strong communication and presentation skills 
  • Ability to develop strong relationships across departments (Public Relations, Marketing, Digital, Research, Investor Relations, Legal) for successful collaboration and outcomes.
  • Can work at a strategic level while also paying attention to detail to produce polished final products.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or related field
  • Experience working within a publicly traded organization is a plus.
  • Be prepared to show a portfolio of relevant work.

Salary: $80,000 annually

The expected base salary for this position is $80,000 annually. The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis considering a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives (e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.).
