Essential Functions

  • Operating a variety of equipment including skid steers and front-end loaders.
  • Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations in concurrence with company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for safety equipment being operated and aspects of the machine such as fueling, greasing, and general equipment maintenance.
  • May be required to prepare location site using heavy equipment - level, clear trees, backfill reserve pits, build ring levee.
  • Additional duties as needed or directed by supervisor and/or manager.
  • Work schedule will vary upon customer needs and can be up to 7 days a week with a maximum 14 hours a day.
  • Company paid overnight travel will be required at times.

Pay rate is $22.00/hour. Benefits include 120 hours personal time off (PTO), pro-rated to reflect hire date, 56 hours PTO illness. Eligible to participate in 401 (k) Retirement Plan, Medical Plan, Dental Plan, Vision Plan, Employee Assistance Plan, Basic Life, Basic Spouse and Child Life, and Basic Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D), Employee Voluntary Life, Dependent Voluntary Life, Short and Long-term Disability, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, and paid Holidays.

Education & Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent. Entry level. Able to demonstrate knowledge of general equipment, maintenance, care and use of safety equipment on each piece of machinery. Understand and demonstrate proper rigging for lifting of material and other equipment, hand signals, spotter responsibility and lesser skilled work. Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions on material paperwork. Good written and oral communication skills. CDL is preferred.

Position Summary

Under direct supervision is learning how to operate overhead crane or other heavy equipment. Moves material to and from designated areas. Inspects incoming material and fills out necessary paperwork. Conducts daily inspection of equipment. Follows all safety rules and procedures. Maintains a safe and clean work area. Handles special projects, as assigned.
