Newpark Resort is looking for an energetic and friendly Sugar Jar retail merchandiser! Do you love candy? Apply for this “sweet” opportunity in Kimball Junction’s very own and unique candy store. The Sugar Jar features an assortment of new, delicious, and nostalgic candies. You will be handling the merchandising of the store as well as inventory management. This role is part time, temporary, and flexible in schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Visual Merchandising: Design and set up creative and eye-catching displays for candy products, ensuring that merchandise is presented in a manner that is visually appealing and accessible to customers.
• Inventory Management: Monitor product levels on the sales floor, ensuring that all displays are fully stocked and properly organized. Assist with inventory counts and reorder stock as necessary.
• Promotional Planning: Collaborate with store management to develop and implement promotional displays and seasonal themes. Create signage and promotional materials to highlight special offers and new products.
• Customer Engagement: Interact with customers to provide product recommendations and assistance, ensuring a friendly and welcoming shopping environment.
• Market Research: Stay updated on the latest trends in candy and confectionery products, as well as merchandising techniques, to keep displays fresh and appealing.
• Store Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the store's merchandising areas, including tidying displays and ensuring that all products are properly labeled and priced.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in retail merchandising, preferably in a specialty or candy store setting.
• Strong creative and artistic skills, with a keen eye for design and color coordination.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills for creating promotional signage and conducting inventory checks.
• A passion for candy and is a plus!

Working Conditions:

• The position may require standing for extended periods, lifting and moving products, and occasional work during weekends and holidays.
• The work environment is typically indoors in a retail store setting.
