About the role

As a Content Insights Specialist at NewsBreak, you will join our robust Content Understanding team, and play a pivotal role in shaping how our content meets the diverse needs of our audiences. This position bridges content strategy and technology, facilitating the delivery of innovative and trustworthy content products. 

Responsibilities

• Analyze various content formats and synthesize insights from both platform and user perspectives.
• Utilize a blend of machine learning techniques and manual interventions to enhance content understanding, including model clustering, annotation, and quality assessments.
• Develop and apply a robust measurement framework and metrics, collaborating closely with raters using defined rating templates to ensure content quality and integrity .
• Contribute to the development of systems that integrate content, content providers, and users to support functions like content recommendation, strategic planning, and ecosystem monitoring.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Journalism, Linguistics, Digital Media, Library and Information Science, Communications, Creative Writing, English, or a related field. At least 1-2 years of experience in operations or strategy is preferred.
• Proven commitment to data accuracy and a meticulous approach to information verification and validation.
• Excellent logical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to analyze issues, summarize findings, identify opportunities, and drive continuous improvement.
• Solid understanding of journalism principles and ethics, with the capability to critically analyze news content and stay current with global events.
• Deep engagement with content products, with a preference for candidates who are avid users and lovers of such products.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to function effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and tackling large, complex problems.
