- Conduct psychiatric and biopsychosocial assessments, identifying patient needs and developing individualized treatment plans.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to high-risk patients, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and well-being.
- Mentor and assist less experienced social work staff, serving as a resource in various aspects of advanced social work practice.
- Collaborate with existing support systems and facilitate community referrals as needed, ensuring patients receive comprehensive care and support.
- Stay updated on departmental, facility, and regulatory standards and regulations, maintaining professional social work standards of performance.
- Valid license as an LMSW or LCSW issued by the NYSED.
- Master's Degree in Social Work.
- At least 1 year of experience working with people with serious mental illness, with 3 years preferred.
- Knowledge of psychiatric assessment, crisis intervention techniques, and substance use disorders.
- Strong clinical and communication skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in English; ability to communicate in Spanish preferred.
- Personal experience with serious mental health challenges, either personally or through a family member, is preferred.
- Field-based experience outside a traditional clinic/hospital setting is preferred.
