Newsweek is looking for an experienced Video Production Manager, YouTube & Platforms to develop and launch several new long-form and short-form videos and series as part of multiplatform digital video strategy to grow our audience on YouTube and other digital video platforms. The primary focus of the role is growing and maintaining our YouTube channel with intentional, high-quality, stylized videos that aim to have a longer shelf life and cover a broad range of topics, from food, entertainment, animals, to economy and technology. The role will act as part skilled videographer/producer, part supervising producer - leading video production from conception to distribution, supervising producers and editors, managing production workflows, schedules and budgets - and part YouTube manager, optimizing video content for YouTube and implementing best practices for growth using data and SEO. This role combines creative vision with strategic planning, focusing on both editorial and branded video content.
The Video Production Manager, YouTube & Platforms has a proven track record of growing a YouTube channel, specifically for a media organization. This person is not afraid to come up with unique ideas and formats that will grab attention and retain audiences. They have experience managing several complex production workflows, hiring, supervising and mentoring others, and collaborating with multiple stakeholders and partners inside and outside the organization.
