The Role - VP, Sales

We are looking for our next Global VP, Sales to join our team in New York. You will play a pivotal role leading the sales team of a company that’s changing the world of media monitoring and social listening. NewsWhip combines the world’s fastest media monitoring with custom AI models to help our customers quantify and forecast the impact of news and social media. This is not a traditional approach to media monitoring and we are proud of the innovation we bring to the market - which has won a customer base of global brands like Coca Cola, Amazon, Google, LinkedIn, Facebook, Ford, Samsung, Volkswagen, Disney and many more - as well as hundreds of the world’s leading publishers.The position won’t be for everyone! It is designed for the extremely motivated and experienced SaaS seller who can lead by example and ensure the team has the tools and resources to deliver results in a consistent and predictable manner. 

Things we won’t budge on:

  • You have led a team of sales executives in the past and not only know how to close business but know how to build pipeline and deliver a GTM strategy
  • You can successfully develop and grow the people on your team with individual professional development planning. We have a tenured sales team and we want to invest in them like they have invested in us
  • You are an advocate for the sales team, understand what the market wants and are able to translate that need across internal teams (marketing, product, executives, etc)
  • You are excited about jumping on a plane to help support the sales team and build relationships with key prospects and clients
  • You can demonstrate that you are strong on establishing standards across all stages of the sales process. 
  • You are willing to jump in and “get your hands dirty” on complex deals in order to get the deal done. While our team is experienced, they want to learn from the best and appreciate the support internally and externally
  • You have a proven track record in enterprise sales, have a good eye for spotting enterprise relationship potential and structuring strategic deals to realize that potential 
  • You have proven experience in demonstrating ROI and product value to overcome budgetary constraints
  • You are technically competent, have a passion for learning new technologies and understanding the challenges they solve
  • You take risks and aren’t afraid to fail and learn from your failures

Bonus points for candidates who have:

  • Industry knowledge - familiarity with the media monitoring space because you have worked in this space or used media monitoring tools in the past
  • Business Development experience -You started your career as a BDR/SDR or have managed a BDR/SDR team in the past
  • Brand Experience: You have experience selling SaaS solutions to large, sophisticated global brands 
  • Technical Experience: You have experience selling complex technical solutions and are very comfortable with new technologies
