    Summary:

    • The building aide is responsible for a range of duties that support the operation of the school. Candidates who bring diverse perspectives and who have skills and experience to strengthen our district DEI work are strongly encouraged to apply.

    Qualifications:

    Required Qualifications:
    • Associate’s degree or minimum of 60 college credit hours (classes in education, special education, psychology or a related field preferred). Successful completion of ParaPro Assessment may be substituted for educational requirements.
    • Written language, technology skill and interpersonal communication skill to support communication among team members, with community contacts, school staff and parents/guardians is required
    Desired Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Proficiency with using technology, eg, Google Workspace and Canva
    • Experience working with children in a daycare setting or children/young adults in a school setting or recreation setting
    • Experience with clerical/office tasks such as preparing copies and editing documents and spreadsheets
    • Motivated self-starter who can work independently as well as collaboratively with teachers and staff
    • Strong communication skills

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Not Limited To):

    • Assist in the main office (monitoring the doors, answering the phone, mail, arrival/dismissal routines, assisting with attendance, assisting with communication, etc.)
    • Provides coverage in the absence of the school secretary
    • Assist the office staff in all aspects of the school day
    • May be expected to provide substitute educator services (eg, provide instructional coverage, for a classroom, small group or individual student)
    • May be expected to prepare instructional materials, assist in classroom set up/clean up, and manage individual and classroom behavior
    • Consistent, reliable and punctual attendance is essential for supervision and instruction of the students
    • Responsible for implementing “other job related duties” as needed
    • May be expected to attend trainings related to position

    Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

    Work Environment:
    • Majority of work is performed in a school/classroom environment. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.
    Physical Requirements:
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, talk, and hear. The employee is regularly required to bend, stoop, crouch and/or kneel.
    • Regularly required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
