Pediatric Physical Therapist – Outpatient TherapyAt NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist, our Physical Therapists use advanced technology and best-practice techniques to restore and maximize patient mobility. We provide one-on-one therapies that are tailored to meet the individual needs of our patients. Our work continues to help patients reach their full potential. Join our inter-disciplinary team and provide high-quality rehabilitation for our patients throughout the continuum of care including acute care, acute inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient rehabilitation.
As a pediatric physical therapist, you will provide high-quality care services to children aged birth through 17 years of age. The primary goal is to support children in achieving developmental milestones and enhancing their overall quality of life. You will partner with families, caregivers, physicians, referring providers, multidisciplinary staff and other professionals. We provide one-on-one therapies that are tailored to meet the individual needs of our patients.
This is a full-time position in the outpatient therapy rotation working Monday- Friday, with weekend and holiday coverage. Periodic weekend and holiday coverage is in adult and occasionally the pediatric PT setting. Shift hours will be either: 7a-3p, 8:30-4:30 or 9-5p. Annual rotations in the Physical Therapy Department include pediatric rotations on our acute care pediatric units which may include NICU/PICU, and the outpatient pediatric therapy setting. Rotations in the adult physical therapy setting include our many acute care units, acute inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient rehabilitation. This position is located at NewYork-Presbyterian/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.
Preferred Criteria
  • Master’s degree or Doctorate in Physical Therapy
  • American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) membership
  • Strong knowledge of child development, sensory integration theory, and evidence-based physical therapy interventions
Required Criteria
  • Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy
  • New York State Physical Therapist License within one year of hire
  • At least one year of pediatric PT experience working with infants, toddlers, young children, and adolescents in a hospital-based inpatient and/or outpatient pediatric setting.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification from the American Heart Association
