Title: Operations Manager
Wage Range: $75,000.00 USD- $90,000.00 USD
Location: Onsite Chino, CA
Summary:
The Operations Manager will plan, manage, and oversee activities in procurement, warehousing and storage, and distribution of the domestic program. This program includes parts, accessories and whole goods distributed under all brands of the group to brick and mortar and e-commerce customers.
Responsibilities:
- Support the business's growth initiatives for brick-and-mortar and e-commerce retailers.
- Formulate, implement, and improve operational policies and procedures to maximize efficiency and support the ongoing change in business needs.
- Find ways to minimize operational expenses and optimize revenue to improve the company's competitiveness.
- Identify potential problems and provide solutions to maximize efficiency and revenue.
- Create and manage the departmental budget.
- Plan the use of human resources. Conduct recruitment and placement of required staff. Establish work schedules, supervise staff, and monitor and evaluate performance.
- Inspire and motivate employees to perform at their best through positive encouragement and incentive initiatives.
- Manage, negotiate, and select the supply chain vendors that will fit our company needs and long-term goals.
- Familiar with seasonal operations for scheduling and oversee the shipping and logistics functions, including negotiating pricing with freight forwarders and carriers, and budget control.
- Oversee warehouse functions to ensure the business needs are fulfilled.
- Maintain good relationships with supply chain vendors and work through solutions for improvement when needed.
- Review vendor invoices and perform analysis to ensure supply chain costs are within budget.
Management and Leadership: - Understand business needs and develop an operational structure to fulfill the company’s long-term goals.
- Share company values and vision, continuously inspiring and motivating the teams.
- Oversee, implement, and adjust procedures and policies within the Operations department, including warehouse, shipping, logistics, domestic orders, service parts, and the purchasing & maintenance team.
- Create a KPI structure to measure departmental performance.
- Monitor and analyze the department budget to ensure expenditures remain within budget.
- Coordinate, manage, and monitor the workings of various departments related to warehouse, domestic fulfillments, logistics, and purchasing.
- Evaluate staff performance and make payroll adjustments as needed.
- Conduct regular departmental meetings to identify necessary improvements such as procedural and policy changes, system (hardware and software) needs, and new talent requirements.
- Coordinate with other departments to improve procedures and policies, enhancing efficiency and productivity in operations.
3PL & Warehouse Management:- Conduct the assessment process for 3PL selection.
- Lead the new 3PL onboarding process, including location setup, EDI testing, item setup, timeline creation, team contacts, and inventory planning.
- Negotiate prices and terms with 3PLs, monitor costs by reviewing billing and making recommendations as needed. Monitor and review 3PL performance to ensure quality and compliance requirements are met and collaborate closely with 3PLs to initiate corrective actions to improve efficiency.
- Design and implement analytical tools to validate data between POS, actual orders received, and retailer forecasts.
- Work closely with the in-house warehouse team to ensure operations and resources meet fulfillment needs.
- Collaborate with the warehouse leadership team to ensure safety and efficiency standards are met.
- Manage warehouse inventory and maintain accurate records.
- Monitor and manage budgets.
- Select carriers for transportation and negotiate rates and contracts.
- Respond to and resolve complaints and problems.
- Stay up to date on shipping carriers, routes, rates, and any changes.
Shipping and Logistic Management: - Seek and evaluate new supply chain vendors, including ocean freight forwarders, customs brokers, domestic LTL carriers, and small parcel carriers.
- Review vendor agreements and negotiate terms as needed.
- Maintain strong relationships with shipping partners, gaining insights to understand market trends and evaluate solutions that better serve our business needs with lower costs and higher efficiency.
- Review and manage the logistics and shipping team's duties and responsibilities to meet business needs.
- Periodically negotiate better pricing based on the business environment and market trends.
- Work closely with customs brokers to identify suitable HTS codes for products. Review invoices and provide cost analysis.
Purchasing and Maintenance - Negotiate prices and terms with vendors for regular purchasing items, including warehouse and office supplies.
- Review and oversee janitorial duties to ensure needs are met.
- Manage office maintenance functions and negotiate with vendors for necessary services.
- Review costs and ensure they remain within budget constraints.
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience in Operations Management required.
- 5 years of experience in management of domestic logistics required.
- 5 years of experience managing and directing the work of others required.
- Extensive experience in e-commerce logistics and handling seasonal business operations is highly preferred for this role.
- Proficient in negotiating favorable terms with vendors and suppliers to achieve cost savings.
- Skilled in resolving conflicts and fostering positive relationships within the workplace.
- Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word & Excel skills.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
